There are nine publicly-accessible Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) on the Medford/Somerville campus. In an emergency, anyone can retrieve the AED to allow a trained individual to use it to treat a victim of sudden cardiac arrest. Opening the cabinet in which the AED is stored will automatically send a signal to summon Emergency Medical Services (EMS), but it’s still a good idea to direct someone to call for help. The publicly-accessible AEDs can be found at the following locations:
Ballou Hall – Floor 2 Main Staircase Landing
Gifford House – Kitchen
Mayer Campus Center – Main Floor (Across from Info Booth)
Science and Engineering Complex – Floor 1 Elevator Lobby
Science and Engineering Complex – Floor 3 Crossover Hallway
Tisch Sports and Fitness Center – Main Lobby
Tisch Sports and Fitness Center – Lunder Fitness Center
Tisch Sports and Fitness Center – Sports Medicine
Tufts University Police Department (419 Boston Avenue) – Floor 1 Lobby
In addition, an AED is carried in the Tufts EMS ambulance and in each TUPD police cruiser.
