At about 6:40 PM on Sunday, November 27, 2016, a Tufts student’s cell phone was taken from her while she stood on the corner of Kneeland Street and Harrison Ave in Boston. The suspect approached the victim and removed the telephone from the victim’s hand and fled on foot down Kneeland Street in the direction of South Station. No weapon was used or shown. The victim then notified the Tufts University and Boston Police Departments. An area search was conducted for the suspect but it was not successful. The victim was not physically injured.
The victim described the suspect as a male wearing a black shirt, and tan or black pants.
While victims of crime are never to blame for criminal activity, there are some precautions that can be taken:
‒ Be aware of your surroundings at all times and trust your instincts. If you think you are being followed, walk briskly away and call police, being able to give them your location.
