CSOs are non-sworn officers who provide valuable adjunct safety and security services. The CSOs perform various roles that are preventative in nature and support our mission of providing a safe and secure environment. They act as an extra set of eyes and ears for the patrol officers and are an additional resource to our community members. Under the supervision of the duty supervisor, CSOs patrol the buildings and grounds of the university, provide escorts and transportation for university personnel, and provide access control at various fixed points throughout the University. Campus Security Officers are posted at various buildings on the Boston Health Sciences campus including Biomedical Research and Public Health, Arthur M. Sackler Center, Jaharis Family Center and the Jean Mayer USDA HNRCA Building. Campus Security Officers are posted at 160 Saint Alphonsus Street and 230 Fenway on the Boston SMFA campus.
Contract Security Officers
Contract security officers are non-sworn personnel who are used primarily at interior fixed positions at buildings on campus. Contract Security Officers work for Allied Universal, a private firm contracted by the university, to provide supplemental safety and security services. Allied Universal officers are posted at various buildings on the Medford/Somerville campus including Tisch Library, Tisch Sports Center, Cabot Center, Aidekman Arts Center and the TAB Building.
