Suspicious person near the Medford Campus

On Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at approximately 1:55 p.m., Tufts University Police received a call from a university staff member reporting a lewd act on a city street adjacent to campus.

While walking on Powder House Boulevard near Powder House Square, the caller reported observing a male in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle exposing himself. The caller reported no interaction or conversation with the suspect, who drove away in the direction of Route 16.

The staff member described the suspect as a male, black, in his 20′s, possibly with a small goatee, wearing a white tank top and sweatpants. The suspect’s vehicle was described as a grey Nissan Altima sedan, with Massachusetts license plate 554RX3.

Tufts Police is assisting Somerville Police with this investigation. A suspect has been identified but not located yet.

*Be aware of your surroundings, and report suspicious activity immediately, gathering as much information as safely possible to describe a suspect and/or the suspect’s motor vehicle. A registration plate number is especially helpful.
