Sgt. Robert McCarthy honored by Tufts Football Team

On Saturday November 1, 2014 the Tufts Football Team honored Sgt. Robert McCarthy for his years of service at Tufts and for being a longtime friend of the football team. Sgt. McCarthy was an Honorary Captain for his last home football game as a member of the Tufts University Police Department. Sgt. McCarthy, who has served 42 years with Tufts Police, walked with the team to the field and participated in the coin toss. Tufts beat Colby on a rainy and windy Saturday afternoon. Sgt. McCarthy’s first football game as a member of the Tufts University Police Department was against Colby and it rained that day as well.
