SafeRide Services – SMFA at Tufts

SMFA at Tufts campus

For your personal safety, all SMFA at Tufts students are encouraged to utilize the SafeRide service as an alternative to walking alone. Vehicle transports are available via Lyft.

How to Request a Ride

  • Download Lyft’s mobile app (via Google Play or App Store)
  • Enter your Tufts email address
  • Enter profile settings and credit card information*, which is required in order to download the application

You will receive an email from Lyft inviting you to the Tufts SafeRide program and asking you to verify your email

  • For individuals who already use the Lyft app and may have created a Business Profile, please ensure you are in “Personal” mode and not “Business” mode in order to use the Tufts SafeRide program
  • *Lyft rides will automatically be paid for by the Tufts SafeRide program so long as you are in “Personal” mode and your ride fits the policy criteria listed below:

Policies for using App

If rides do not comply with the policies below, the individual will be charged for the service

  • Must be a SMFA undergraduate or graduate student
  • Must request a ride between the hours of 9:00pm – 5:00am
  • Rides must be to or from the buildings at 230 Fenway or 160 Saint Alphonsus St
  • Rides (pickup and drop off) must be within a 1.25 miles radius of 230 Fenway
