On Monday, May 30, 2016 at approximately 4:00 a.m the Tufts Police received a call of a breaking and entering at a house on Bromfield Road. The resident, a Tufts student, awoke to a male entering the student’s room. When the male noticed that the resident woke up he fled the house. Tufts Police along with Somerville Police conducted a search of the immediate and adjacent areas to no avail.

It’s believed the suspect gained entry through an open window.

The victim described the suspect as follows: a male wearing a camouflage colored hat.

While victims of crime are never to blame for criminal activity, there are some precautions that can be taken:

* Always secure doors and windows.

* Be alert to your surroundings, reporting suspicious persons or circumstances to the Tufts Police immediately at x76911 or 617-627-6911 from a cell phone, or call 911 for local police.

* Program the Tufts Police emergency telephone number into your cell phone so you will be prepared in an emergency 617-627-6911.

This incident is being investigated by the Somerville and Tufts and Somerville Police Departments.
