We want to inform you about vandalism and anti-Semitic graffiti that occurred on campus early this morning, March 28th. After 1:00 am, several vehicles parked at the rear of 123 Packard Avenue (Theta Delta Chi) were defaced with silver latex paint, including one vehicle on which a swastika was painted. The Tufts University Police Department is investigating this incident to find whoever was responsible.
With the cooperation of the Somerville and Medford police departments, we recently brought to closure, through the Somerville District Court and Juvenile Court in Cambridge, several incidents of vandalism and anti-Semitic graffiti that occurred on or near campus. We found that those responsible for those acts of vandalism were not members of the Tufts community, but rather local youths.
Such incidents violate Tufts University’s fundamental values of inclusion and respect for all members of our community. We remain committed to ensuring that our campuses are places of civility and respect for all. We ask that anyone with information regarding today’s incident to please contact us as soon as possible.
