On Friday, September 13, 2013 approximately 11:50 pm the Tufts University Police received a call of a breaking and entering in progress at Blakeley Hall. The student entered his first floor room and encountered a male who he did not know. The male displayed a knife and told the student to leave. The male then fled through the window with a laptop and cell phone belonging to the victim. The student was not injured.

An area search for the suspect was conducted by Tufts University, Medford, Somerville and the State Police. The suspect was not located. Tufts University Police are actively investigating this incident and have increased patrols in the area.

The victim described the suspect as:

White Male, about 6 feet tall, in his early 20s, thin build, blonde hair, wearing a red and white plaid shirt.
