Training

All police officers are required to complete a State certified Police Academy. After graduating from the Police Academy new officers are then required to complete a three month in-service field training program. The field training program includes training on each of the three campuses (Boston, Grafton and Medford/Somerville) during which time they are evaluated on a regular basis by each of the training officers to whom they are assigned.

All officers are required to complete a minimum of 40 hours of in-service training on an annual basis.

Cultural Center Liason Program

In addition to the Duty Team Liaison Program, the Tufts University Department of Public Safety and the Office of the Dean of Students have become partners in the Cultural Center Liaison Program. This program has the same philosophy as the Duty Team Liaison Program, by serving the residents and the communities that each Cultural Center represents.
