Timely warning – Armed Robbery/Assault and Battery Dangerous Weapon

At about 11:00p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2016 TUPD received a report of an attempted robbery and assault and battery dangerous weapon (knife) incident that originated on College Avenue near the Cousens Gym Complex. The incident involved three male suspects who chased the victim through the Cousens Lot and assaulted him with a knife while on the pedestrian foot path adjacent to the Tufts Athletics Fields. The suspects then fled from campus.

Tufts PD and Medford PD responded, checking the surrounding areas for the described suspects, with negative results.

The victim, who is not affiliated with Tufts, was taken to an area hospital and describes the suspects as:

Suspect 1: White teenage male with blond hair, about 5 feet 7 inches tall

Suspect 2: White teenage male with dark hair, about 5 feet 7 inches tall

Suspect 3: Light skinned black teenage male, about 5 feet 7 inches tall

While victims of a crime are never to blame for criminal activity, TUPD would like to remind all to:

  • Travel with  friend if possible

This incident is being investigated by the Medford and Tufts University Police Departments.
