Timely Warning – Attempted B&E

On Sunday April 17, 2016 at approximately 9:34 a.m. Tufts Police received a call of an attempted breaking and entering at a house on Sawyer Avenue. The resident, a Tufts student, saw a white male at the rear of the house opening the screen to a window. The student could not be sure which way the suspect fled. Tufts Police along with Somerville Police conducted a search of the immediate and adjacent areas to no avail.
 
The victim described the suspect as follows:
 
White male, approximately 30-40 years old, thin build with slicked back brown hair, wearing a key ring on his belt.
 
While victims of crime are never to blame for criminal activity, there are some precautions that can be taken:
 
* Always secure doors and windows.
 
* Be alert to your surroundings, reporting suspicious persons or circumstances to the Tufts Police immediately at x76911 or 617-627-6911 from an off-campus or cell phone, or call 911 for local police.
