Recent incident of anti-semitic graffiti

This morning, Saturday, December 13, 2014, the Tufts University Police Department (TUPD) learned that several swastikas had been painted on the rear of Lewis Hall along the Powderhouse Boulevard side of the building. The markings appeared very similar to those that defaced both our campus and public property in Somerville in late November.

As President Monaco has said in the past, such deplorable acts, which are counter to the values of the Tufts community, are deeply concerning. We are taking this incident extremely seriously. TUPD immediately notified Somerville Police who responded to the scene to assist in the investigation. TUPD will continue to work in partnership with Somerville Police, and will keep President Monaco, other senior leaders and the university community informed about these efforts.

If you have any information that could lead to identifying the suspect(s) in these incidents, or observe any suspicious persons or activity in the area please contact TUPD as soon as possible at 617-627-3030 (x73030) or call the Somerville Police at 617-625-1600.
