Unarmed Robbery 9/29/13 SA13-11-CPM

This evening, Sunday, September 29, 2013, Tufts University Police spoke with a student who reported being the victim of an unarmed robbery that occurred on Wareham Street in Medford, Ma. at approximately 2:30 am on Sunday, September 29, 2013.  The victim was walking home and while walking on Wareham Street the suspect came up from behind her and struck her on the head, causing the victim to fall to the ground and drop her wallet, which the suspect picked up. The victim screamed at the suspect, causing neighbors to come out, who yelled as well. The suspect fled toward Main Street, Medford. The Medford Police and Emergency Medical Services responded. The victim was treated on scene and taken to her home.

The victim described the suspect as a white male, about 6 feet, 2 inches, to 6 feet, 3 inches tall. He was in his mid to late twenties, wearing light colored jeans and a black hooded sweatshirt.

Medford Police are investigating this incident and have increased patrols in the area. Tufts University Police will assist and have also increased patrols in the area.
