A&B/Hate Crime 8/6/13 SA13-6-CPM

On Tuesday, August 6th, 2013 at approximately 12:55 p.m. Tufts University Police received a call from a Tufts student that he had just been assaulted by three male youths in the parking lot of 200 Boston Avenue. The victim reported that as he walked westbound on Boston Avenue along the sidewalk three suspects on bicycles passed by yelling slurs at him. The victim asked them what they had said. The suspects stopped, dropped their bikes and approached the victim asking if he wanted to fight. One of the suspects pushed the victim. As the victim called the police on his cell phone, the suspects fled the area on their bikes westbound toward Rt. 16. The victim was not injured.

Both Tufts and Medford Police responded and an area search was conducted. The suspects were not apprehended.

The victim described the suspects as follows:

Three males, 15-17 years of age, all wearing shorts riding “low-riding type bikes”. Two of the suspects were Caucasians. The third suspect was dark skinned. The suspect who assaulted the victim was a white male, about 5’7″ tall with facial acne, possibly wearing khaki shorts and a light colored striped shirt.
