Pandemic Flu Planning

In August 2006 President Larry Bacow launched a committee to prepare the university for the possibility of pandemic influenza. Since then a team of senior university administrators has met regularly to plan the university's response. Departmental and individual preparedness activities should be ongoing and may be aided by some of the following resources.


Latest Information on novel H1N1 virus (Swine Flu)

The recent emergence of a new strain of influenza is being closely monitored by university officials. A dedicated novel H1N1 virus (swine flu) website with the latest information has been established at http://emergency.tufts.edu/flu .

Twice a year at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters you will receive an invitation from the Tufts Emergency Alert System giving you the opportunity to enter your personal contact information via an external link.

FIRE

Walk to the nearest exit; DO NOT USE THE ELEVATORS.

IF YOU GET CAUGHT IN SMOKE:

  • Stay low, smoke will rise to ceiling level first.
  • Drop to hands and knees and crawl towards the nearest exit.
  • Hold your breath as much as possible; breathe through your nose and use a filter such as a shirt, towel or handkerchief.
