Emergency Response Guide

Bookmark this page and keep it available for immediate reference.

This Emergency Response Guide contains instructions to assist members of the Tufts Community in responding to a variety of emergencies that may affect a Tufts campus. The most important information you can use in an emergency is the number to contact Tufts Police, shown here, and shown in the right-hand column of each page in the guide. It's suggested that you program the 10-digit emergency and non-emergency numbers into your cellphone for your particular Tufts campus.

From any Tufts University campus telephone, in an emergency, dial x66911 to reach the University Police. Additional numbers are shown below.

Contact Community Policing for an orange emergency sticker for your phone.

If you're calling from off-campus or using a cellular telephone, please use the following telephone numbers to reach the University Police. You can also dial 9-1-1 for an emergency anywhere in Massachusetts. Prepare for an emergency before it happens: program the emergency number for the University Police into your off-campus or cellular telephone.

In Case Of

FLOODING

Major flooding on campus would be the result of torrential rains, a water main failure, or from pipe freeze-ups.

Use extreme caution around appliances or electrical receptacles near the leak and/or water.

Evacuate from affected buildings and areas immediately.

Follow instructions from the Tufts Police, who are trained to help you.
