Preventing Strain Injuries in Laboratories

  • General Workstation Setup
  • Tasks Specific Guidance
  • Reporting Injuries

Purpose:
Poor ergonomics can lead to musculoskeletal disorders, cumulative trauma injuries and/or repetitive trauma injuries.  While ergonomics can be applied to many facets of one’s life, the purpose of this course is to focus on common tasks performed in a lab. Various controls will be outlined for each of these tasks with the goal that if applied, the likelihood of injury could be reduced.

Audience:
Recommended for all personnel working in a laboratory.
