Tufts Roofs for Safety Trained Persons Only

Roofs of Tufts buildings are dangerous and not designed for sunbathing, stargazing, sightseeing or practice rock climbing. Falls from roofs is a frequent cause of death and permanent injury and must be prevented. For this reason, doors and hatches to roofs are locked at all times.

Roofs may contain moving mechanical equipment, electrical wiring and devices, and stacks and chimneys designed to disperse hot air and other hazardous gases.

Authorized staff and contractors are required to install and wear fall protection if they intend to walk on or work within 15 feet of the edge of the roof.
