FROM: Capt. Mark Keith, Department of Public Safety
DATE: March 05, 2002
SUBJECT: Key Requests and Distribution
Effective on Monday, March 11th, 2002 the Department of Public Safety will assume responsibility for oversight of all key and lock change requests. In order to facilitate these requests, departments must follow these procedures:
- Department managers must complete a revised Access Request Form (available from Public Safety) or by going to http://publicsafety.tufts.edu/adminsvc/ and downloading the form as well as completing an Interdepartmental Requisition (IDR).
- The completed Access Request Form and the IDR will be forwarded to the Public Safety Administrative Services office, 1st floor of 419 Boston Ave. (formally known as ‘Parking & Traffic’) to the attention of Brett Sylvia or Capt. Mark Keith.
- Once the lock change and/or the keys are cut, the Public Safety Administrative Services office will then notify the employee that the request is complete and ready for pick-up.
- The requestor then picks up and signs for the key(s) at the Public Safety Administrative Service office on the first floor of the parking garage, 419 Boston Avenue.
When a department employee, who has been issued a key, resigns, the Public Safety Administrative Services should be notified at x73692 and the key(s) retrieved from the departing person. The key(s) should be returned to the Public Safety Administrative Services office at 419 Boston Avenue or, if transferred to another person, notify the Administrative Services office in writing to whom the key(s) were transferred.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping us accomplish this procedural change. We believe the change is instrumental in helping provide a more secure and safe environment for the Tufts Community.
